Curious about something, or have a question? I've put together some answers to questions I often get asked to help!

What materials do you use?

I believe in creating beautiful pieces that are intended to last many lifetimes, not just a couple of weeks or months. I work with both precious and semi-precious metals, with .925 Sterling Silver, 9ct and 14ct Yellow Gold offered depending on the piece. All items are made of solid metal, except for gold chains - these are 14ct Yellow Gold-Filled. I do not plate any of my pieces. For my bridal accessory collection, each piece is made from solid Brass to give it a beautiful gold hue.

Wherever possible, I use recycled metal in all my designs, and work with suppliers who only refine recycled metal. I also collect and recycle all the scrap metal from my studio.

Every piece has been described and photographed as accurately as possible, however due to their individually handmade nature there may be slight variations in colour, texture or appearance from what is seen on your screen. This is what makes handmade so great!

Where do you source your stones?

We have such a beautiful array of natural stones in Australia, and as my work is influenced by the Australian landscape, it feels only natural to choose to work with Australian origin stones wherever possible.

All diamonds incorporated into my designs are certified as Australian origin, with the exception of black diamonds. A certificate showing authenticity of origin can be provided upon request. In addition, all stones are conflict-free and sustainably sourced.

How long will my piece take to make?

All my pieces are lovingly handmade to order, and as such all good things take time. If I can create your piece quicker than stated, I'll be sure to ship it out sooner! Please check the individual listings for current production timelines.

How much and what are my shipping options?

I'm so pleased to offer free express domestic shipping for customers in Australia for all orders over $150! This discount will be applied automatically at checkout, so you don't have to worry about a thing.

Please click here for further details on shipping options, delivery times as well as international deliveries.

In a rush?

Depending on your requirements and the piece you are interested in, a rush service may be available for an additional fee (usually between AUD$50-100). If you need a piece by a specific date for a gift or any particular occasion, I will always do my very best to get your piece made and delivered to you by this time. Please contact me to discuss further before placing your order.

How do I find out my ring size?

Please click here to find some helpful information on how to estimate your ring size. While I am more than happy to help wherever possible, due to your ring being handmade to order it is ultimately your responsibility to check sizing. Please take a moment to check your sizing via the link above, as I am unfortunately unable to offer a refund or exchange for incorrect sizes.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

I take pride in not only creating your special piece, but also how it will be presented to you or your loved one. Every piece is carefully and beautifully gift wrapped at no additional charge and then placed in a padded postage envelope to help protect it against damage in transit. I like to try to save trees as much as possible, so paper receipts will not be included in your package but emailed instead.

Do you offer a bespoke design service?

Yes, when my schedule allows. Please contact me with your ideas and we can chat further.

Do you offer refunds or exchanges?

Due to the handmade nature of my pieces, I am unable to offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, so please choose carefully. Mijatu pieces are entirely handmade, and as such there will always be some variation between pieces and also to what you see online. I do my best to ensure all items listed are described and photographed as accurately as possible, so please read each description carefully.

What if I believe there is a fault?

I'm only human, and in the unlikely event there is a problem with your order, please contact me to discuss options. I will assess the situation and if considered faulty I will gladly repair, replace or exchange the faulty piece at my discretion. Please do not return your piece without prior permission sent by mijatu.

Any approved returns must be sent back to mijatu within 14 days, with their original packaging, unworn and placed in a padded envelope. For orders over AUD$75, I suggest adding tracking to your returned order. Return shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer, with processing only taking place upon receipt of the item by mijatu.

What currencies do you support?

All pieces are originally priced in Australian Dollars (AUD). For international customers, the currency will be shown in AUD however can be changed via a drop down menu at the top of your screen. It will then be converted to your local currency and any applicable taxes added at checkout.

Why has the price changed since I last checked?

The price of metal changes on a daily basis, and as most of my pieces are made to order, this means that occasionally I need to adjust my pricing to reflect current metal rates. I try not to do this often, but sometimes it is unavoidable.

I love my purchase! Now what?

I'm so pleased to hear it! I love hearing from customers and seeing them wearing my pieces, it's my favourite part of the process. Please share the love around by tagging me on Instagram (@mijatu) or Facebook (@mijatudesigns) so others can see too! And of course, please check back often or subscribe to my newsletter to hear of any upcoming news or product launches, so you'll be one of the first in the know.
